News and updates

3/9/2009
Allright, got some sleep, feeling pretty good now. I think I got maybe 5 hours of sleep between friday and sunday. But I was full of energy and having an illegal ammount of fun.
But yeah. Staple. Austin. Good times. The best convention I've ever done (which doesn't give them justice since I've only done a handful so far) but really, it was a great con. I went with Matt Houk again, like with WizardWorld. Always good to hang out with that guy.
I did pretty good, sold a couple of the prints I made, did a good ammount of sketches. Gave away all of my New Balance ashcan minis. People really seemed to dig them.
While I didn't get a picture (which of course I wish I did) I got to meet Josh Lesnick, one of my favorite webcomic artists. That guy is so chill, man, and I wish I could have talked to him more, but I didn't get the chance to, since he was in a different room then me (I actually walk around alot at the cons I go to, even having a table, heh)

My New Balance mini got some publicity. I was on a podcast that should be up friday I believe. I'll post the link here once it goes up so you can hear me say some really dumb things, heh.
Also, Ninja Mike and Tron over at Cyber Monkey Death Squad both have my mini in their posts about Staple. You can check them out here and here.
The afterparty live art show was great too. It was at this real chill bar called the Red 7, with live music from Terp2it. Stan Sakai was there drawing some Yojimbo, which made me want to draw some Yojimbo, so I did, and Stan was watching me do it the whole time! That's easily the highlight of Staple for me. Stan Sakai liking my drawing of his character.

Thanks James for the picture! ZOMBIELESS!!!

Now I'm home, getting back into my normal schedule. I put up the New Balance pages now that the con is over, and I plan on adding to it weekly, so check back. The art section's always getting updated semi-randomly too, so yeah. Enjoy.

Well, it's 11 in the morning, and Staple is over. And I gotta say, I've never had so much fun at a convention. I'll definatly be going again next year. A lot of great stuff happened at the conention. I'll post al the details by tomorow.

Today I heard from the guys at Staple! in Austin, I officially have a table for their 2009 show! If you live near the Ausin, TX area, you should check their site for info on the show and where it's gonna be. This will be my first time in Austin (technically) so I'll probably make a mini-vacation out of it.

So Wizard World was pretty fun. Sold a few comics, talked with a few artists, played some Street Fighter Alpha. Good times, good times. All-time best thing ever was that I got to participate in the Heroes 4 Heroes art auction. My peice went for like 70 bucks, I was pretty surprised.

11/7/08:
I'll be attending the wizard world convention friday through sunday with matt houk. (dreamers writer/colorist) if you're in the area or plan to attend, stop by our table to see the dreamers comic (and maybe buy it too) or get a commision drawing/painting from us!
